My dear DrThomson

I am very vexed
at what has taken place
as to this extra [cutting] and I
confess I am not a little
uneasy when I see the very
great [¿] of our [¿]
in providing contracts [¿]
estimates for the alterations [¿]
additional works _ It is not
busineſslike and I fear it [¿]
because he does not wish us
to carry on the [works] upon
the principles we have laid

down _ As to the additional
cost the enormous additional
cost of the Heating Apparatus
you should [note] the [¿]
[apparatus] to take charge of
this and ask them for a [¿]
of their proceedings _ their estimate
of cost and [¿] before
their [¿] costs estimate and
ask them for an explanation
I certainly [¿] [¿] the
ours upon them _ I think
the sooner we have this and
afterwards a meeting of the
Building Committee the better

Yours very truly
[¿]
Dr Allen Thomson
